Daffs & Irises Terracotta Flower Pot, Large
I have up-cycled an old terracotta flower pot and created beautiful large daffodil and iris motifs on the surface, using glass, mosaic tiles and pieces gathered from charity shops, including china, ceramics and beads. I have left parts of the pot exposed in order to include the interesting patina which develops as a pot ages. The mosaic tesserae are cemented onto the terracotta pot to ensure a long life. This piece was inspired by the flowers in my own garden pots this spring which suddenly produced a very welcome warm and sunny period after a prolonged wet and cold winter giving us a late spring this year.
It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. If you position it outside, it is recommended that you bring it indoors in the winter months as terracotta does erode over time if left outside in cold temperatures.
Size: 10” high/9” diameter at the opening.
Currently being exhibited at the Mid Wales Arts Centre if you would like to see it in person. The MWAC is in Caersws, near Newtown, Mid Wales, Powys, SY17 5SB
Alternatively, I can arrange to have it delivered to you. See below under Postage and packing.
